Tis the season to enjoy homemade hearty food. Wrapping up in swathes of knitwear, cozy socks and retreating under a warm blanket on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Nothing would complete this picture more than a piping hot bowl of something delicious balanced on your knee. And maybe a crackling open fire…
You’ve had a long week at work and truthfully you don’t want to stand all afternoon in the kitchen. Good food at the Assembly rooms is something that we really pride ourselves on. But did you know in-between catering for our functions, whether that is a wedding, conference or annual dinner, we also run a little company called More-More-More. Restaurant quality fare online, for home delivery throughout the UK. Fresh ingredients, locally sourced and ready to pop in the oven in the comfort of your own home.
But if you do want to create something for yourself at home, try to buy seasonal, local produce;

Here’s a little inspiration to begin your cooking.
Steaming stews and piping hot crusty bread, mince and dumplings, wild mushroom risotto, beef bourguignon and mustard mash, root vegetable soup and cheesy, fluffy bread. Pies, glorious pies! Squash and pumpkins! The list is never ending and well, don’t get us going on puddings.
Make the most of wild damsons, elderberries, sloes, plums and blackberries, get them picked and freeze them immediately if you’re lacking time to do something with them. Or get them thrown into vats of gin, vodka or brandy, doused in sugar and sealed shut, let time work its magic and tadahh fabulous homemade boozy spirits for Christmas. A word of warning here, the longer left to mature before consuming the better, quality control testing is key and it should be very palatable straight up with no mixer.
Jams are very easy to make too, sugar, a squeeze of lemon and your chosen fruit in a decorative jar. Another fabulous gift! Make the most of the rain this Autumn and get into the kitchen, if not you know where to order it from www.more-more-more.co.uk. Enjoy!
