While we’re still waiting for the cold snap, it is undeniably chilly. As I write this I am wearing two jumpers. Polo necks. Yeah… And it’s 12 degrees. Not so chilly.
If I could be picky I’d love it to get a bit frostier.
As a quick disclaimer, I love winter and everything it brings.
What happened? It’s the 22nd of November. This year has lost the run of itself. And it’s entirely acceptable to erect the Christmas tree, adorn every surface in holly/garlands/glitter, be ‘finished your shopping’ and have the big day planned down to a T. Christmas it seems, is well and truly here, and has been for some time for the observant amongst us.
The Christmas market is in full swing surrounding Grey’s Monument and it’s everything a festive market should be. Although it’s not meant to start until the 17th of December according to many websites and what’s ons? Here’s hoping it’s going to grow in the coming weeks.
Paddington is peering out at us from Fenwick’s window accompanied by the slightly bizarre music, which by the way, the volume is particularly enthusiastic pre nine o’clock in the morning. But he’s cute so he’s getting away with it for now.
Here at the Assembly Rooms we have been on with Christmas since March, over the summer there is always a succession of regular clients, they book suites year on year throughout the festive month. As a venue we will be running lunches, party evenings, afternoon teas, supper clubs, themed parties and it all takes place over six function rooms.
To say the least we will be having a busy December. But that’s how we like it! We’re going to getting our hands on an excess of 6500 Christmas crackers… That doesn’t include the stash we already have. And we’ll be putting up our five Christmas trees, however they’ll be waiting for December. There’s due to be plenty of evidence all over our Instagram so make sure you’re following us!
We hope to be seeing you over Christmas you’ll find our full Christmas brochure here… But if we don’t make sure to have a good one!
